Munshi Premchand was Born on July 31, 1880 and Died October 8, 1936. Munshi Premchand brought practical issues of the day-communalism, vice, Zamindari, debt, poverty, colonialism etc. He is voided the use of extremely Sanskritized Hindi and instead used the talk of the common people.

I am sorry, but all the pictures under the category entitled Munshi Premchand (save the B/W moustachioed) are of the eminent Bengali novelist BankimChandra Chatterjee, composer of 'Bande Mataram', and generally accorded as the pioneer of the modern Indian novel format.
